The partnership of two well-known Ghanaian performers, Kofi Kinaata and MzVee, has recently sparked debate in the music business. There have been rumors that the two are romantically involved.

MzVee addressed these rumors during an appearance on Okay FM’s “Blezz The Mic” portion of Ekwansodwoodwoo. When asked about her relationship with Kofi Kinaata, she described him as a witty individual who makes her laugh.

However, when questioned about the dating rumors, she was evasive. She stated, “If you want it to be true and it will make you happy, then it is true.”

Although MzVee did not disclose their romantic relationship, her statement has reignited the controversy on social media sites.

MzVee originally appeared on the Ghanaian music scene as the main vocalist of Lynx Entertainment’s female band D3 in the summer of 2012. The band had successful singles such as “Good Girls Gone Bad” and “Gyani Gyani” before disbanding at the end of 2013 owing to the young members’ educational obligations.

MzVee debuted her solo career in January 2014 with the release of her debut single “Borkor Borkor.” She then released the smash tune ‘Natural Girl’ and went on to win the ‘Unsung Artiste Award’ at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards. Her debut album, Stonebwoy, VIP, Shatta Wale, Richie Mensah, M.anifest, and Didier Awadi, was released in November 2014.

MzVee’s second album, Verified, was released in November 2015, following the success of her award-winning debut album. MzVee received seven nominations for the album at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards, including ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’ for the track ‘Abofra,’ which includes Efya. DaaVee, her highly awaited third album, was released in May 2017.

From 2017 to 2019, MzVee took a two-year hiatus from the music industry. She claimed in an interview with TV3 on Monday, 5 January 2020, that her reason for leaving the music industry was a severe depression she was experiencing. This has put to rest pregnancy rumors, which some speculated were the reason for her absence from the music industry. MzVee had support and encouragement from her friend Efya during the two-year period, and she eventually overcome her sadness. She has declared that she will return to music in 2020 and will release a track titled “Sheriff.”
