Burna Boy Has Appreciated Ghanaian Market Women Who Danced To His Music
Nigerian Award-wining afrobeat musician, Burna Boy has thanked a group of Makola Market ladies in Ghana by putting them on a billboard near the market.
The touching gesture was inspired by a TikTok video made by famed Ghanaian dancer, Official Starter, who is known for his viral films featuring market women dancing.
In the video, these active ladies gladly joined in the Nigerian singer’s challenge. Official Starter uploaded the video on social media, and it ultimately attracted the notice of Burna Boy, who reposted it on his Instagram story for his 15 million worldwide followers to witness.

Inspired by their spirit, Burna Boy decided to decorate the Makola billboard with their photographs. Burna Boy, also known as Odogwu, uploaded a screen clip in which he asked his team what might be done to show his appreciation. A billboard was proposed by one of his team members.
BurnaBoy subsequently posted an official photo of the ladies standing proudly next to their freshly installed billboard, captioned “Queens #ITOLDTHEM.” This touching initiative from Burnaboy was received with lots of praise on social media and exemplified the power of music and dance to bridge cultures and bring joy to people’s lives, transcending geographical boundaries.
