The completion date of Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak’s cook-a-thon who is attempting to break the Guinness World Records GWR for the longest cooking hours by an individual has been extended to ten days.”
The initial period announced before to the event was from January 1 to January 5, 2024, which should equate to 120hours of cooking to equal five days.
However, information presented by Failatu’s cook-a-thon crew several days into the event revealed the necessity to extend the cooking hours to more than 144 hours. According to Joy News, Failatu is currently attempting to clock a total of 240 hours in order to complete the 10-day challenge.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tamale, Mr Damba Naa, manager of Failatu Abdul-Razak, stated, “The idea is no longer 5 days, we doing 6 to 7 days.”
He claimed that the team had to make such a move in order for the Chef to create a mark because a Ugandan lady had already cooked for 144 hours in order to shatter the current record.
He went on to say “For us to be able to break the existing cook-a-thon, we have to go beyond the 144hours”
Chef Dorcus Miremba, popularly known as Mama D, is a Ugandan woman who successfully broke the current cook-a-thon record by cooking for 144 hours.
She began cooking on December 23 and finished on December 28 in order to beat Aln Fisher’s existing record of 120 hours.
